Milly is an award-winning writer and director based in the UK. An advocate for accessibility and women in film, her projects to date have focused on – and subverted – narratives and voices that are often left unheard, including those around hidden chronic illness and disability.
All of Milly’s films have achieved success on the festival circuit, including selection and award nominations from BIFA, BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals such as the BFI London Film Festival, Leeds International Film Festival, Cambridge Film Festival, Superfest and Norwich.
Milly’s latest directing project, Sleepyhead, written by Charlotte Paradise, was developed with the National Film and Television School as part of Disney’s Star Imagine UK. It premiered in official selection at the 2023 BFI London Film Festival and won Best British Short at LIFF, and the P.K. Walker Innovation in Craft Award at the BAFTA-qualifying Superfest Disability Film Festival.
